Two Post Secondary Lock System: The Atlas two post “chain-over roller” lifts have a spring loaded secondary lock system (SLS) that automatically engages in the event of a slack or broken chain.
The "chain break" SLS was designed and incorporated into these lifts, so that in the unlikely event that a chain would break, the SLS (secondary locking system) would automatically engage. The SLS "grabs" the slack or broken chain and holds it in place.
On lifts that have dual point lock release, the locks are automatically engaged as the lift is raised. When the lift carriage (sitting on the lock position) is ready to be lowered, the operator raises the lift carriages (slightly...with pressure from the power unit) and then goes to both columns and pulls the wire release cables. When the wire release cables are "pulled out", the column locks are "disengaged" and the vehicle may be lowered to the ground by depressing the "dump valve lever" on the power unit.
Dual Point Lock Release: One of the features of this lift is the dual-point lock release. The dual-point lock release features locks in both columns. The lock cable in both columns must be pulled to release the locks.
Chain-Over-Roller Cylinder Configeration: This 2-post lift has the chain-over-roller cylinder configuration. There are two popular hydraulic cylinder configurations used in two post electric/hydraulic above ground lifts: Greg Smith Equipment sells above ground lifts that incorporate both the direct drive cylinder configuration and the chain-over-roller cylinder configuration. The base plate two post above ground lift implements the chain-over-roller configuration. This is the only hydraulic cylinder system that is possible in the base plate lift. The base plate two post above ground is designed for "low ceilings". The direct drive hydraulic cylinder configuration cannot be used in the base plate lift because the hydraulic cylinder would extend above the 9' column when the lift arms were raised to the maximum height. The "overhead" two post above ground lift may incorporate either the direct drive hydraulic cylinder or the chain-over-roller hydraulic cylinder.

5 Year Structural & 2 Year Hydraulic Warranty
This Atlas product is warranted for five (5) years on structural components and one (2) year on electric or air / hydraulic power units and cylinders effective from date of invoice. Wear items carry a 90 day warranty.
Our LIMITED warranty policy does not include a labor warranty. Our products are sold at such a competitive price that Atlas Equipment cannot afford to send technicians into the field to repair the Atlas equipment. We assume that the buyer of our automotive equipment is mechanically inclined or has employees that are mechanically inclined to perform essential repair services and or maintenance. We also have a list of service technicians that can come to your facility/house at the customer's expense.
NOTE: ALL WARRANTY CLAIMS MUST BE PRE-APPROVED BY THE MANUFACTURER TO BE VALID.
The electric motor for the power unit requires 220 Volt (single phase) 60 Hz (+/- 5%, so 209-231 volts). We recommend using at least a 10 gauge (grounded) wire from the electrical panel. The power unit may or may not have a short pigtail (no plug) that can be wired to either an optional quick disconnect box (mounted on the lift column) or to a male/female plug combination. A 30 amp breaker is required.
Chain-Over-Roller Cylinder Configuration
This 2-post lift has the chain-over-roller cylinder configuration.
